Electricity from waste
The waste is a lot of energy. A ton of garbage corresponds approximately to the heat energy of 250 liters of fuel oil.
Process
The combustion generates heat. This heats the water through a pipe system. The heated water is heated to boiling point. The resulting water vapor is pumped into the turbine with pressure, where it drives the blades. The turbine shaft begins to turn and the heat energy is converted into mechanical energy. At 10,000 revolutions per minute, the rotary motion of the turbine shaft drives the generator. At this time, electric power is generated in the form of electricity from the mechanical energy. This electricity is sufficient to cover the entire demand of the AVA on the one hand and to feed around 63,000,000 kWh into the public grid on the other hand. In this way, the AVA helps to provide households with electricity.
